Joe England Obituary, Death – It was during their time as members of the Welfare Committee at the Irish Centre in Mount Pleasant that Anne and Joe first became acquainted with one another. In 1970, they tied the knot, and the Centre served as the location for their reception. Celine, who works as a nurse in Seattle,
United States of America, and Kieran, who is married and resides in Crosby, are their two children by this couple. Since 1964, Joe has been actively interested in Irish affairs as they pertain to Liverpool. In addition, he was the Chair of the Executive Committee at the time that the Irish Centre was honoured with the Irish Post Community Award for outstanding achievement in the year 1977.
In 1963, he travelled from Roscrea, which is located in Tipperary, to England. At the time, there was no job available in Ireland, but there was a lot of work available here. Almost immediately after it opened, he became a member of the Irish Centre in Mount Pleasant and served on a number of different committees.
Along with that, he was a member of the Shamrocks in Birkenhead and the St. Patrick’s in Liverpool hurling teams. Prior to his appointment as a probation officer in 1970, Joe worked in a variety of professions, including those on construction sites, in the Ford factory in Halewood, and as a van driver. In 2002, he took his retirement.
