She’ll always be Jamie Sullivan in our hearts! When Mandy Moore isn’t acting or breaking a sweat with her BFF workout buddy Minka Kelly, she’s often posting incredible throwback photos via Instagram. This time, the newly single star shared a snapshot on Friday, April 10, from her 2002 teen drama A Walk to Remember.
“Just found this one in the vault. Getting sewn into the dress during the school play scene in #AWalkToRemember,” Moore captioned on her 31st birthday. “I remember celebrating my 17th Birthday during filming. Feeling oooolllllld. #fbf.”
The Red Band Society alum starred in the Nicholas Sparks romance flick with Shane West, who played Landon Carter. Carter falls for unpopular and cancer-stricken Sullivan while she helps him rehearse for a high school play, which he has to do for community service.
A few years before her Sullivan days, Moore first became a household name because of her music career and her 1999 song “Candy.” That year, Moore — then a contemporary to the likes of fellow teen pop stars Britney Spears, Christina Aguilera, and Jessica Simpson — wore a green plaid floor-length skirt and pink turtleneck tank top to the Billboard Music Awards.
“First ‘Red Carpet’ experience at The Billboard Awards circa ’99….and I thought I was bringing it, guys,” Moore joked about a second Instagram photo on Thursday. “Also, it was someone’s job to ‘style me’ and this was the end result….So yah. #whatwasithinking #itwas1999butstill #tbt.”
